Job Description
Eaton located in La Grange, NC facility has an immediate opening for a Tool and Die Maker on our 1st shift. This role starts at $27.00/hr with room for growth. Position Overview: To maintain all plant tooling which includes but not limited to molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures. Ensures all related standards with respect to cost, efficiency, personnel and health and safety are maintained. Essential Functions: · Operate standard machine shop tools and CNC controlled machinery to make tools, jigs, fixtures, molds and machine parts to the blueprint specifications required. · Assist Engineering in the design of the items listed in item one. · Must be able to read blueprints. · Maintain existing and new blueprints. · Use an Optical Comparator, precision measuring instruments and other gauging and inspection tools. · Proper knowledge of heat treating all tool steels and their characteristics for their proper use. · Working knowledge of the Rockwell Hardness tester on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. · Maintain a clean work area that meets 6S requirements. · Follow all safety procedures. · Assist Molding Department with mold processing when applicable. · Move molds with forklift, crane, and other mechanical devices. · Follow environmental regulations and waste disposal procedures. · Perform other duties that may be assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required. Minimum 4 years of experience operating CNC making tools Must be legally authorized to work in the United states without company sponsorship. No relocation benefit is offered for this position.
