Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Tooling Engineer Sr to join our team. This position is based at our Tijuana facility. The Tooling Engineer Sr is responsible for establishes standards for, and directs activities pertaining to, the design, fabrication, inspection, and control of fixtures and specialized tooling. The position drives continuous improvement while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF). Some activities related with the position will be: Design and manufacture Complex tooling and mylars in support of Manufacturing. Gather tooling requirements from manufacturing engineering and product drawings/specifications. Provide tool usage documentation. Guide Quality Assurance personnel with tool inspection plans, interpretation of inspection data, and plans for problem resolution. Guide Tool Room personnel in process of manufacturing and repairing tooling. Create tooling inspection requirements for new tooling. Interpret customer inspection requirements for existing or customer-controlled tooling. Manufacture Tooling/ Poka-yoke components and oversee. Work with Eaton Tool Design group to provide reference models and design oversight for tooling designed for Tijuana. Deploy tool fabrication methodology to support NPD/STP transition projects using designs from EATON EIEC and TJ from other EATON Sites. Follow up to manufacture, assembly and calibration of fixtures for internal production & follow up to quotations, requisitions, manufacture and deliver to plant of fixtures with external suppliers. #LI-UH1 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Strong communication skills 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing work specializing in Complex tool design and machining, Digital Assembly and Integration of Machining Centers equipment. Experience operating conventional machine shop equipment including lathe and mill and CNC machining Centers and accessories, EDM wire, Grinder machines. Experience with Advanced inspection techniques. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual English/ Spanish Computer Skills, including ability to use all MS office software Advanced Blueprint reading AutoCAD, ProEngineer, CATIA, Solid Works, Mastercam CNC programming skills is a must, G code interpretation We make what matters work.
