Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION The Analyst for Trade Compliance will be working at Eaton’s new manufacturing plant in Aguascalientes - this position is focused on leading trade compliance (equipment/machines, purchased parts/tooling, and internally manufactured goods). This position support Trade Compliance activities from various internal and external suppliers within North America and Globally. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Customer communication - Providing Trade Compliance status to internal customers including planning, VG Logistics, Trade Compliance Center of Excellence, CSR & SIOP teams. Conduct regular meetings with carriers and brokers per process to ensure Eaton’s compliance in standards and policies Ensure full compliance to Eaton’s standards and policies for both Logistics and Import & Export (Trade). Be a liaison with Trade Compliance Center of Excellence to assure compliance to Eaton’s policies and standards (i.e. Origin certification. Tariff classification) Annex 24 (IMMEX) and 31 (VAT Certification) Control (Open Balances) Trade Compliance management including scrap control, sub-maquila suppliers set up, virtual operations, fixed assets control, among others Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) lead and compliance Support follow-up meetings / calls with brokers and logistics providers to drive performance improvement for non-performing carriers or brokers. Work with finance on forecast projections for Trade Compliance, and Brokerage expenses. #LI-SL4 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE Basic Qualifications: BA in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business, Trade Compliance or related operations degree required Degree qualification in Foreign Trade, International Trade or related discipline Minimum of 2-year experience Trade Compliance or related field Bi-lingual (Spanish and English proficiency >70%) written and oral Position requires working knowledge of MS-Excel, Logistics, Data analysis techniques using simple pareto charts and trend analysis. MS-PowerPoint and MS-Word Knowledge of Oracle ERP, ASCP preferably Proficiency in Supply Chain, Customs law, NAFTA / TMEC agreement, Annex 24, Annex 31 and local customs law Good decision making and communication skills Good team facilitation skills and ability to work with internal resources, internal customers, external suppliers, and external customers Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 2 year in manufacturing environment (Import-Export / Traffic Area), automotive preferred. Knowledge and application of Eaton Business System tools ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Travel approximately <5% Position requires a strong sense of urgency in order to respond in a timely manner to critical customer and plant requests. This may include early morning, late evening, and night or weekend availability to conduct meetings and/or conference calls with carriers / brokers and internal customers.
