Siemens Rail Infrastructure is a multinational leader in providing state-of-the-art software-based Signalling, communication and control systems that enable the operation of trains in mainline and mass transit systems across the world. You will initially be employed as a trainee, with a development plan to ensure you progress quickly, so that you can operate as a member of the Construction Team. Going forward, you will plan, manage and carry out Site installation activities as detailed below. You will take a proactive role in advising others of issues, actions and risks. What are my responsibilities? Act as a trainee, with the aim of becoming a team leader for installation teams within 2-3 years. Following completion of training/appropriate work experience, take on the responsibilities covering: Organise and plan work to maximise utilisation of resources. Organise and control the work undertaken by staff and contractors allocated and to ensure that it is carried out safely. Responsible for managing the personal safety and the administration, of allocated staff and contractors. Ensure that the briefing of instructions to staff under his control or allocated to him for such purpose is carried out timely. Responsible for checking and certifying time sheets ensuring correct hour booking and appropriation. Responsible for the timekeeping and discipline of staff/Agency workers under his/her control. What do I need to qualify for this job? Essential Mechanical/electrical engineering background – either formal education or work experience 5 GCSEs Grade C or above Excellent communications skills Assertive and influential Must be prepared to regularly work day/night shifts as required Driving LicenseDesirable Experience in railway signalling installation Experience in supervising staff or leading team IRSE License About us We’re Siemens.
