We are looking for a Trainee Translator to join our Finnish Language Office in Turku for a 3-month fixed-term contract for Summer 2021. You will be responsible for delivering translations of the highest quality and accuracy on time and within budget.

Main Duties:
• Translation from English into Finnish
• Review work of other in-house and external translators
• Understanding and following linguistic processes and procedures
• Understanding and following the specific processes of each client
• Producing quality translations within given deadlines
• Managing terminology effectively
• Using the translation tools
• Linguistic checking of Desktop Publishing output
• Linguistic testing of software, help and websites, if necessary
• Proofreading of documents, if necessary
• Providing full linguistic support for your colleagues
• Using the timesheet and work scheduling systems efficiently

Essential requirements:

• Native-level Finnish
• Degree in translation or any other relevant combination of training and experience
• 1-2 years translation experience
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure

Desirable requirements:

• Good knowledge of translation software such as Trados Studio 
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
