In this vital role the Senior Manager will be responsible for defining, creating, and owning the learning experience strategy, planning, and designing for account manager programs across GCO. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Global Field Excellence team to identify learning needs and enable and support the global advancement of Amgen's account manager curriculum. Collaboration with the Learning Experience and Innovation Team and with other training resources, sales and marketing partners are critical to achieving overall goals.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Apply innovative design thinking and adult learning principles in the design of learning experiences for account manager capabilities across GCO.

  • Work with Global Field Excellence, Field Leaders, and business/functional SMEs to review and understand learning needs / requirements in order to apply in a modern learning experience design

  • Design and develop comprehensive, interactive, and engaging solutions in the flow of work to address learning needs (i.e. gamification, VR, etc.)

  • Determine appropriate mix of delivery methodologies with learner-centric mindset

  • Understand breadth of tools, resources, day-to-day operations of learners to design an experience that embeds learning in the flow of work

  • Engage GLS or manage external vendors to develop/deliver content, as needed

  • Strategize and design program sustainment and adoption plan

  • Design innovative ways to assess performance in developing learning program quality

  • Review detailed design with business partners and business subject matter experts to ensure needs and objectives are met

  • Create and manage Learning brand strategy for respective programs, including development of branding materials and learning collateral

  • Evaluate success for the programs based on the metrics guideline and standardization set up by the Learning Operations and Enablement Lead

  • Gather feedback on Learning experiences, preferred vendor experience / evaluation, and facilitator experience for continuous improvement

  • Anticipate needs to create a modern, digital learning experience that enable development and long-term career growth

  • Stay up-to-date with latest and future learning experience trends and share best practices

This position reports to the Director of Learning Experience and Innovation.

This position can be done remotely within the U S, some travel will be required.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of sales, account management and/or training & development experience

Or

Master’s degree and 4 years of sales, account management and/or training & development experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of sales, account management and/or training & development experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 10 years of sales, account management and/or training & development experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of sales, account management and/or training & development experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: pharma/biotech sales, hospital systems account management and/or training & development

  • Account management and/or sales management experience

  • Track record of success, demonstrate good team member and leadership qualities, and excellent matrix management skills

  • Strong analytical and technical skills, creative problem solving and excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to oversee complex projects and manage time, resources and cross functional teams

  • Strong internal project management skills and ability to manage remote relationships
