Training Manager- Education Team

Calm Island is looking for a training manager to join the growing team in our Shanghai office. We are a data driven early education company providing learning management and curriculum solutions to be used at home and in schools all over China and around the world. You will focus on the creation and localization of large-scale online and offline product, rollout, and teacher training to support our schools, clients, and offices around China. This role reports to the Education Director.

In this role, you will…

• Plan, create, and implement bilingual (Chinese/English) training programs that support effective use of our products, new product rollout, and ongoing support training for all users of our app

• Deliver training and run train-the-trainer programs for our partners and centers

• Assess the effectiveness of training with surveys, observation forms, and other feedback collection formats

• Work closely with department heads and business units to assess training needs, select an appropriate training format (onsite/online, synchronous/asynchronous), and manage training schedules

• Assess training tools and platforms as needed to support our training programs

• Partner with experts on the education team to maintain a superior level of product knowledge, and ensure alignment on product aims and training outcomes

• Step into a people-management role as the training load increases and more trainers are required

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Early Childhood Education

• 3+ years of training experience

• A degree in early education or instructional design

• Fluent in English and Chinese

• Strong written and oral communication skills in both languages

• Familiar with tools and platforms for large-scale training, communication and feedback collection

• Desire and ability to gain buy-in and support the change-management process for new product rollout

• Good listener with a keen eye for resolving unmet needs, and willingness to go with the flow as needed to achieve goals
