AstraZeneca Global Business Services (GBS) exists to innovate and lead the delivery of boundary-less, enterprise-wide customer-centric services that create value to accelerate the achievement of AstraZeneca’s ambition.
Global Financial Services (GFS) operates globally within GBS through a combination of in-house captive and offshored business process outsourcing (BPO). The BPO element has been provided in partnership with our service provider Genpact since 2008. The Transactional Global Procurement Services (TGPS) are part of a wider Procure to Pay organization with a range of services like: Accounts Payable (P2P), Travel and Expense (T&E) and Master Data Management.
As the successful Transactional Procurement Manager, you will have exposure to many Procurement Managers and Global Category Leaders across Global Procurement organization, CFOs and regular P2P users. Your main focus will be to successfully deploy further the tactical buying service (Spotbuy) across new countries and regions at AZ globally. Therefore, your previous project and change management experience as well as overall expertise in procurement and category management is essential to be successful in this role. You will influence driving improvements and efficiencies in other key services within TGPS (PR/PO gatekeeping, contract upload onto Jaggaer, catalogue content and supplier enablement, third party risk management, financial due diligence and related activities) by implementing best practices and continuously striving for business process excellence.
Joining the TGPS team will give you an opportunity to learn and use market leading P2P tools like: Ariba, Coupa and Concur or data mining tools like Celonis.
You will report into Global Process Lead – TGPS and you will be accountable for the tactical buying service delivery and savings target realization delivered through the global TGPS team at Genpact, our BPO partner, across five delivery locations (India, China, Romania, Guatemala, Brazil). You will be a change agent for major transactional procurement processes (e.g. buying channels implementation, replacement of existing P2P platform etc.).
The role holder will be required to occasionally travel globally.
Major accountabilities are including:
- Building and leading project teams, communicating roles and responsibilities whilst encouraging teamwork and collaboration among the team and business stakeholders
- Effectively applying project management methodology and enforcing project standards
- Ensuring project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
- Building project improvement plans
- Managing Steering Committee expectations
- Actively managing the implementation progress and collaborating with the procurement stakeholders to ensure all necessary requirements are incorporated in the new process
- Working closely with the team located at the Genpact delivery locations and to make sure highest service quality will be delivered to the AZ stakeholders
- Maintaining Spotbuy webform and initiating improvements to further automate and simplify the process for the end-users
- Making sure the Spotbuy service line is regularly reviewed with the regional TGPS teams, actions are identified and tracked
- Capturing monthly savings achievements along with other key metrics and presenting them to relevant stakeholders
- Supporting key initiatives in regular TGPS service lines (PR/PO Gatekeeping, Contract Upload on Jaggaer, electronic Content Management)
- Regularly analyzing and monitoring key transactional data, driving conclusions and proposing actions to further improve and automate the processes
- Building and maintaining communication networks between internal and external users and service providers, and all other parties and organizations involved.
ESSENTIAL
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement/Sourcing including negotiating and buying
- Experience of managing projects/programs or in a similar role (Transactional Procurement/SSC/BPO environment)
- Experience of working with third party suppliers
- Experience of working application of P2P policies, procedures and guidelines
- Change management experience from an international organisation
- Ability to lead cross functional activities with energy, engagement & focus on results
- Demonstrated success building cross-functional global networks and stakeholder management
- Well-developed organizational and interpersonal skills
- Creative mindset and problem-solving skills
- Self-confidence and strong presentation skills; comfortable using virtual communication tools (video and audio)
- Technical understanding of one of the P2P platforms (preferably Ariba/Guided Buying, Coupa) or SAP MM
- Ability to occasionally travel internationally
DESIRABLE
- Up to date knowledge of developments within the wider (transactional) Procurement function and understanding of how changes may affect the function (or be leveraged to drive continuous improvement).
- Practical knowledge of electronic P2P content management
- Awareness of basic accounts payable rules
- Previous work experience with a BPO partner or on the BPO side
- Other European language skills (German, French, Italian, Spanish) would be beneficial but are not critical
