The External Relations Department of the Corporate Affairs Division is responsible for producing and providing editorial support for corporate publications in English and Chinese as well as for stakeholder relations management and community engagement, including public enquiries and complaints.
Duties & Responsibilities:
This position reports to a Senior Manager of External Relations, as part of the team responsible for translating various kinds of documents, such as corporate publications, press releases, consultation papers, circulars for the financial industry, supporting evidence for prosecution and disciplinary action, and submissions to the Legislative Council, from English to Chinese and vice versa.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree preferably in translation or language studies. A high level of proficiency in both written English and Chinese is essential. You should have at least five years’ solid experience in translating a variety of legal and financial documents, including those that are used in court proceedings. Knowledge of the principles of plain language and an eye for detail are core requirements. Good understanding of the Hong Kong securities and futures markets and various financial products will be a definite advantage. Cross-divisional exposure is an added advantage.
