Job Description

Would you like to take up the exciting challenge of helping to develop safe operating and maintenance practises for our transmission asset in Taiwan?

Join us and become the Transmission System Manger in our Operations department where you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with Taiwanese law and legislation and the Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules regarding the operation and maintenance of electrical systems. As the Transmission Systems Manager, you’ll also be responsible for heading a team of Site Specialists and Technicians for execution of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our Changhua 1&2 transmission asset.

Your key tasks will be to

  • develop a strong, positive electrical HSE culture and ensure that there’s always a focus on maintaining and improving standards related to how electrical safety is managed on site
  • be responsible for planning, directing, and managing the operation and maintenance of our transmission asset – consisting of onshore and offshore substations – including being responsible for quality, budget, and resources
  • effectively manage direct contact with Taiwan’s national grid operator, Taipower
  • set up a training and authorization regime for personnel and contractors, ensuring the required competences and skills are defined, established, assessed, and maintained for the safe operation and maintenance of electrical equipment, including execution of work in accordance with our electrical safety rules
  • take execution responsibility for energization and operation of our transmission asset, management of contractors, and service agreements related to the transmission asset.

In addition, you’ll continuously develop our transmission asset strategy for Changhua 1&2 and any upcoming Taiwanese assets in accordance with the organisation’s asset management policy. You’ll be accountable and responsible for the development of all staff within your reporting line. During asset construction, you’ll be part of the commissioning team controlling electrical safety and managing the technical interface and communication with Taipower.

Your competences include that you

  • have significant experience in high voltage operational management, ideally within an engineering or utilities business. Experience in communicating with the national grid operator will be an advantage
  • have proven experience and insight in Taiwanese legislation towards electrical safety and requirements, coupled with experience of coordinating activities and resource management
  • have an analytical approach to your work and an ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously and calmly without losing perspective
  • have the necessary qualifications and experience to meet the requirements as a licensed engineer for UHV electrical systems
  • are able to create excellent results through teamwork and develop good relationships with your colleagues and external business partners
  • speak and write English fluently.

You’re a dynamic professional person with the ability to work independently as well as in teams, with a focus on finding both constructive and practical solutions to all kinds of challenges. You have good communication skills and can communicate smoothly with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

You should expect some traveling in relation to your work, both domestically and potentially occasionally to other parts of the Asia-Pacific region and to our offices in Europe.
