What will you do?

  • Communicate effectively with clients, couriers and other operational departments
  • Coordinate domestic, international shipments
  • Coordinate internally managed orders
  • Communicate daily with carriers and freight forwarders, in coordinating pickup and delivery of shipments
  • Prepare and process required documentation; examples: commercial invoices, export documentation, certificates of origin, and bills of lading
  • Verify quality assurance checks are completed
  • Provide rate quotes per customers’ requests for both current and future shipments
  • Maintain standard operating procedures to reflect current processes
  • Validate all freight bill & coding as deemed necessary from third party billing provider and corporate finance
  • Manage and maintain all record keeping requirements in accordance with Thermo Fisher policy
  • Work closely with our warehouse personnel to ensure they have all documentation required to prepare shipment and understand regulatory requirements
  • Determine load size and special handling requirements to optimize the best carrier for movement of goods
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned
     
  • Education
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

    Experience

  • Must have excellent computer skills and be able to operate Microsoft Office and be familiar with any other software pertinent to the position
  • 2 years of experience in the transportation / logistics industry

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent organizational, communication and documentational skills
  • Willing to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced and pressured environment, communicating effectively with both colleagues and clients and following verbal and written instructions
