DESCRIPTION

Spurwink Services is looking for a Treatment Foster Care Support Specialist to join our team! Spurwink is a nationally accredited non-profit organization that provides a broad range of mental health and educational services for children, adolescents, adults and families. Spurwinks Treatment Foster Care Program currently serves children and families in 11 of the Maine counties.

$500 sign on bonus!!

Many positions include sign on bonuses that are available to full-time newly hired staff. The first half of the sign on bonus ($250)will be paid after 90 days of full-time employment and the second half of the sign on bonus ($250)will be paid after six months of full time employment. If a new hire changes status to either part-time or per diem status during any of that timeframe, they will forfeit the sign on bonus that is yet to be paid

DUTIES

Support Specialists build social, coping, and independent living skills with children, as well as support foster families and supervise visits with birth families. Work with clinicians, case managers, and foster families to facilitate individualized treatment of foster children. Supervise visits between foster children and their biological families and report any concerns to supervisor. Provide one on one support to foster children when indicated. Work with clients, biological families and foster families from a strengths-based perspective using positive role modeling, skill building and behavioral interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree strongly encouraged and Bachelors degree preferred. Must have 1 or more years of experience working in an educational or social service environment. Applicants should have excellent customer service skills. Spurwink is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
