Primary Responsibilities
Support the establishment of a UK entity with a primary focus on the Financial Regulatory Reporting Requirements to the Bank of England, Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority
Support license application requirements and validate related reporting obligations and detailed data requirements
Support Finance and Regulatory system implementations including data integrations and related testing
Collaborate with key stakeholders including Regulatory Reporting Leadership, Finance Systems, Data Technology, Financial Controllership, Treasury, Product and Credit teams
Establish and manage monthly, quarterly and annual reporting submissions to Financial Regulators in the UK and Luxembourg primarily for the credit and e-money products
Manage the end-to-end data process and business partners to complete timely report production utilizing dedicated regulatory reporting applications
Ensure data integrity and controls with reconciliations to source systems and against financial accounts
Resolve any exceptions through process improvements and holding data providers accountable for data quality
Manage and support integration of regulatory requirements for new products and acquisitions by managing data requirements, process set up and transition to a sustainable methodology.
Monitor the development of regulations in the UK and EU to ensure advance awareness and preliminary tasks are undertaken early to implement foreseen changes
Liaise with Regulators on new publications and enquiries regarding regulatory compliance
Strive to create efficiencies in processes, in particular concentrating on risk reduction through automation and maximizing the use of existing functionality
Review and manage detailed risk based operating procedures and checklists focusing heavily on internal controls throughout.
Prepare and present periodic updates to Finance Leadership.
Challenge, resolve and communicate any issues to internal stakeholders.
Liaise with internal and external auditors ensuring all requests and any issues are addressed timely and accurately.
Assist the Global Regulatory Reporting and Governance team in any related initiatives outside of EMEA.
Skills & Qualifications required
Qualified accountant, preferably with a Big 4 background and 5+ years’ professional experience in e-commerce/payments/financial services industries
High level of expertise in sourcing, interrogating and manipulating data in various forms/code from multiple systems/platforms
Keen analytical and problem-solving experience with a strong focus on quality assurance of output
Understanding of regulations affecting the Banking, Payments and Credit industries across the UK, EMEA and globally
Familiarity with local and international accounting standards
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross functional and remote teams
Technical experience dealing with multiple data systems and regulatory reporting platforms. Direct experience with SAP, FRS and Abacus 360 is an advantage
Ability to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members
Willingness to take on additional Regulatory Reporting work unrelated to EMEA
Ability to escalate issues and seek guidance as required
