Job Title: US-Analytics Engagement Director
Job Location: New York, NY
The US-Analytics Engagement Director will embed and scale the Powered by Data strategy across US/North American Petcare divisions. This will be done by partnering with individual divisions and an x-division ecosystem leadership team to develop, roll-out, and govern the strategy across Petcare and on behalf of the Petcare Leadership team. The role will be We are searching for a highly experienced Analytics and Insight professional to lead the US/North America analytics engagement team.
The role reports to the Global VP Analytics Engagement and has two engagement team managers reporting to it. The role and team members will work with regional/local division leadership teams and Division D&A directors across Petcare to orchestrate the development and delivery deliver of their Powered by Data strategy and roadmaps. The role will be the expert data & analytics partner for the x-divisional ecosystem team, identifying and leading ecosystem and x-divisional initiatives in partnership with the NA Analytics & Data Science Director.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 10 years experience in this space, with a focus on working with multi-brand organizations and consumer analytics
- Deep and rich experience in leading analytics projects and creating insight to inspire action and deliver business benefit
- Deep experience in the creation and implementation of strategies for global organizations
- Proven ability to influence C-level leadership, able to persuade leaders to change behaviors and invest behind new approaches and strategies
- Proven ability to guide and partner with senior business leaders including strategy, marketing, operations, technology, and data & analytics
What would be your key responsibilities?
- Be the expert data & analytics partner for the US/North American x-division Ecosystem team
- Be the trusted partner of the Division leadership teams and Division D&A directors in North America
- Orchestrate the creation and delivery of multi-year Powered by Data roadmaps, identifying overlap and x-division opportunities
- Identify and lead ecosystem and broader x-divisional analytics initiatives from ideation through to implementation and value creation (where agreed, lead individual division analytics initiatives on behalf of Division D&A directors)
- Orchestrate value delivery from Powered by Data strategy in the US/North America
- Identify and specify new analytic product requirements aligned to strategy delivery in the US/North America
- Identify upskilling requirements of divisions to inform the development of Data Unleashed training requirements
- Acquire and retain a balanced, skilled, and motivated US/North America engagement function
- Agree and monitor the KPIs and metrics for Petcare’s Powered by Data strategy in the US/North America
- Be the data & analytics expert partner for the US/North American x-division Ecosystem team, identifying and driving relevant Powered by Data initiatives to support the Ecosystem strategy
- Develop and champion a Pet and Pet Parent centric approach to strategy development, be a thought leader within the segment and an expert partner for Division Leadership teams and Division D&A directors to deliver value from the strategy
- Drive US/North America Ecosystem analytics initiatives and broader x-division initiatives that deliver pet health benefits and a competitive advantage for Petcare from our Ecosystem data
- Orchestrate development and delivery of Powered by Data roadmaps with regional and local division leadership teams and global division data & analytics leaders, identifying opportunities for x-division partnership and value creation
- Deliver analytics initiatives in partnership with data & analytics leaders within the segment and division teams, working closely with analysts, data scientists, and data acquisition
- Drive divisions to take action from data, understanding business change required to do so. Own the tracking and monitoring of value realization from the Powered by Data roadmaps in the US/North America, reporting to the PLT.
- Identify new analytics products required to enable local market Division teams to deliver on their Powered by Data strategies, partnering with the Data Engineering Global Lead to deliver these
- Identify critical upskilling needed in division teams in order to become Powered by Data and create value through division roadmaps
- Ensure learning and development plans exist for all members of the US/North America Petcare analytics engagement team and that they are shared in a way to accelerate the development of individuals and the function

- The Petcare Segment consists of five Divisions: Pet Nutrition, Royal Canin, Mars Veterinary Health N. America, Mars Veterinary Health International & Diagnostics, Kinship. Under this new organization of Petcare Product and Service brands, we launched our Strategy in 2018 with an objective to “Create a Better World for Pets by extending global leadership in Nutrition, Health, and Services powered by Data”.
- With the breadth and scale of our Petcare businesses, we have unique and unrivaled data assets. The potential to create benefits for Pets and sustainable competitive advantage is huge and we need to seize this opportunity now.
- Our data assets consist of Veterinary data including appointment and invoice details as well as the medical histories and diagnostic details this provides. We have breed and disease marker data from our DNA diagnostics business (Wisdom Health), Location and Activity Tracking data from our Whistle business. From our nutrition businesses we have sales data, some consumer data as well as valuable information about retailers, Veterinarians, Breeders, and Shelters. We also have third-party data providing us with product purchasing insights and the potential to develop deeper and broader views into Petcare shopping through collaboration and D2C engagement.
- We began our work to leverage these more strategically to power our ecosystem in 2018 and there is a significant team across both segment and divisions driving these efforts.
