Abbott Rapid Diagnostic division currently has an opportunity for a US Medical Education Field Strategy Manager – West. The primary purpose of this role is to support the field team as they engage with the Medical Education programming in developing, implementing and managing education initiatives that align to and drive business strategy of US Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Infectious Disease customers.  Individual is a key player in implementing medical education needs identified for Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) to deliver strategic message for peer to peer programs and other educational programs.

The Medical Education Field Strategy and Planning Manager – West,  will work closely with the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Infectious Disease sales team to strategically plan and execute external meetings and training events for the Medical Education department.  The position will coordinate consultant nomination and speaker management efforts. This individual will work closely with vendors to design or create event elements to support strategic objectives and program deliverables.  Individual will develop communications to the field sales force and attendees to ensure appropriate awareness of the event. This role will also be instrumental in processing a series of post event tasks that include timely payment of invoices, internal chargebacks, HCP (Healthcare Professionals) reporting, financial summary and attendee evaluations.

Ideally this candidate will be located in the central or western portion of the US near a major airport.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Executes continuing education for physicians, fellows, and other customers through customized education programs in the field and at national programs.
  • Aligns with regional Abbott Rapid Diagnostics teams to effectively drive high level of engagement in Medical Education initiatives.
  • Aligns needs of customers to available MedEd programs and ensures content is tied to those needs.
  • Identifies customer needs based on field intelligence and supports content development to meet them.
  • Engages field organization through field travel to understand the current selling, competitive, clinical and healthcare environment and makes necessary changes to the curriculum to ensure customers are adequately trained.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of Abbott products, therapies, customers and business objectives to develop, implement and execute educational programs
  • Assists in identification, onboarding and maintaining of KOL for speakers bureau and education events.
  • Maintains calendar of approved national peer to peer programs.  Manage registration process and education event communications, program logistics and post-program close-out for assigned events.
  • Partners with the customer education team to provide operational support necessary for program development and improvement.
  • Travel required (~50%).

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years in clinical applications role or equivalent
  • Minimum 2+ years in industry
  • Minimum 3+ years of clinical experience
  • Travel required, up to 50%.

The salary for this role is between $88,000 - $176,000.
