Job Description
Position Title: English and Social Studies or Science Curriculum Writer and Teacher (10-12th grade) at in a High Schoolin Jiamusi city, Heilongjiang Province, China
Department: International Department
Reports To: International Affairs Director and Principal
Supported By: EachFuture Cultural Network

This position consists of the following:

Work with the International Affairs Director and Principal of Jiamusi No.1 High School to develop course curriculum, including all materials for assessment and instruction for a one-year related subject courses. The course should be designed to accomplish the following:

• Acclimate Chinese students to progressive United States instruction techniques, including project- and discussion-based instruction
• Develop basic fluency in academic English related to content areas of the subjects
• Develop basic mastery of the concepts and skills related to the subjects

This position will be compensated by Jiamusi No.1 High School as follows:
• Salary - Starting from ¥150,000 per academic year (before taxes), paid monthly for continuously 10 months.
• International Transportation – one round-trip ticket (economy class) based on one-school-year contract will be provided.
• Housing - Furnished one-bedroom apartment with kitchen, bedroom, living room and Internet access for the duration of the contract.
• Insurance - Accident and medical insurance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
• Develop a curriculum as per the summary statement above, leaving Jiamusi No.1 with a curriculum package that can be used by Chinese instructors to teach the course after this position expires.
• Teach the curriculum to 10th through 12th grade students as a full time teacher in Jiamusi No.1 High school. 40 hours of combined teaching and office hours per week.
• Observe the laws and relevant regulations enacted by the Chinese government.
• Observe the school’s work system and regulations concerning administration of foreign teachers and shall accept school’s arrangement direction, supervision and evolution in regard to his/her work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a secondary education field from accredited college or university.
• Experience working with students in a diverse, multicultural academic setting

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Valid teaching certificate with secondary related subject endorsement is much preferred.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program
• Ability to plan and implement content-area lessons based the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, peers and parents
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
