Intel Corporation is seeking a US Tax Controversy Sr Manager. The ideal candidate will have subject matter expertise with I.R.S. process and procedures, as well as experience with non-U.S. tax controversies.
In this role, you will analyze tax issues, develop tax controversy defense strategies, and communicate and collaborate with global tax subject matter experts and business partners with varying backgrounds and levels of experience. A successful candidate will be able to manage complex workflows that involve multiple stakeholders and build strong relationships within Global Tax and across the company in addition to developing relationships with various taxing authorities.
Job responsibilities include:
Liaise with tax planning, compliance and reporting, M&A, transfer pricing, and regional teams to ensure our tax audits are properly managed, support the day-to-day operations of U.S. federal income tax audits and directly manage the company's relationship with the IRS
Review and coordinate the response to Information Document Requests and Requests for Information from various taxing authorities
Interact with tax colleagues on a regular basis to understand, discuss, and assist in bringing resolutions to complex tax issues
Assist in the development of methodologies to quantify and maintain tracking tools regarding our global tax controversies, and provide updates to executive leadership
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as external advisors to ensure complete and timely flow of information and resolution of tax audits
Coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and conduct research on a broad range of U.S., international and transfer pricing tax matters to support positions taken on tax returns
Research complex tax issues, including key provisions pre and post TCJA, prepare technical documentation and assist on special projects as needed
Review and analyze controversy outside the U.S. and their implications to U.S. controversy
Identify and assist with process improvements resulting from audit management
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum qualifications:
CPA, and/or MST required
10+ years of tax experience at a multinational corporation and/or public accounting firm.
This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications:
Law degree and LLM from a U.S. based law school
Solid understanding of U.S. tax law and its applications (pre and post TCJA)
General understanding of indirect tax, employment tax, and property tax concepts

Excellent organization and project management skills with the ability to work independently to drive and own audits to final completion, and to produce high quality work product in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$146,960.00-$234,820.00

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
