We are a new function within Siemens Corporate IT organization. We’re here to drive the adoption of user centric design across IT and Siemens business units. We’re looking for a Lead UX Designer to help us do this. This is a senior position, and we need you to be able to sell and embed UX concepts. You’ll need considerable experience in helping teams adopt UX design into their software development lifecycle. Siemens is a global organization and as such the people you work with are also based around the world. This is your role. You’ll need to be able to fluidly explain and sell the concepts and benefits of UX to senior stakeholders, but equally to junior developers so your ability to pitch to a target audience is a must. There is a huge talented design community at Siemens. We’re connected but we need to find even more ways to capitalize our collective experience and knowledge to grow a unified design strategy with common of practices and extended sharing of capability, knowledge, and design resources. You’ll need to guide internal and external IT teams in their adoption of User Centric Design principles, mind-set, frameworks, approaches, practices, and tools. You’ll need to be able to coach, mentor and train people to impart your knowledge and experience to others. Put theory into practice! We want to grow our UX capability. Your primary role will be to lead as we know that if you only act as a UX design consultant, the benefits will disappear after you leave an intervention. Sometimes you may be responsible for the experience design of a product, in which case, you will support all stages of the experience-focused design process, from understanding the business challenge, developing a solution strategy and vision until handing it over to the developers. Inspire, motivate, and energize those you work with. Use your skills to move the world forward. You have successfully completed university degree in Information Technology or similar A solid basis in UX Design - many years of experience working at a digital agency and/or in an in-house UX team with a significant portfolio as an UX Designer. Proven experience in leading a User Centric Design transformation initiative would be welcome. Aptitude to work in a large corporate organization, with diverse structures and stakeholder groups. Problem solver that does not accept the ‘status quo’. Evangelist of user experience in the organization. Business (contract and negotiation) fluent in English We’ve got quite a lot to offer.
