We have an exciting new opportunity for a UX/UI designer looking to grow their career. The design intern will be fully supported by a team of talented designers and developers who take on a range of exciting projects including maintaining a design system. The design intern will gain valuable experience in UX/UI processes at each stage of the design lifecycle. The role is paid and candidates can choose to work on-site/hybrid. Your main responsibilities: Working within a fun and talented interdisciplinary team of 8 (UI designers, UX designers, and frontend developers), with a shared goal of respecting, collaborating, and learning from one another. Working collaboratively on various exciting projects including mobile apps, websites, and design systems. Ideating, Sketching, wireframing, and prototyping using a range of tools such as Miro and Figma. Communicating effectively and sharing design work through presentations and reviews. Carrying out user research directly with end users through a range of UX methods including user interviews and usability testing sessions. Gaining professional experience working with other teams made up of data scientists and engineers. Qualifications Your essential skills we are looking for: A strong portfolio showcasing your creative design solutions and skills is essential when applying to this role. Experience with Figma, Miro, or other industry-standard design tools. Experience in designing user interfaces for different platforms such as web apps and mobile. Knowledge of UX/UI Design processes and User-Centred Design principles Knowledge of fundamental visual design principles, colour theory, typography, and other UI elements. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong willingness to continuously grow and develop as a UX/UI designer. Proactivity with a strong sense of ownership. Ability to work in the Republic of Ireland without corporate sponsorship. Desired: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in UI/UX Design or a related field, e.g. Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, Advertising, Interactive Design. Experience working in an Agile/ Lean environment . Experience leading interviews, focus groups or testing sessions with end users. An interest in learning more about energy, data and sustainability.
