Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive is looking for an experienced product designer who is passionate about user-centered design approaches, interaction design excellence, and transforming customer content into elegant and usable solutions. In this role, you’ll work closely with researchers, developers, program managers, and other designers.

You’ll have the opportunity to make product decisions, construct UX solutions, and participate in defining the vision of the end-to-end user experience. The ideal candidate will be an end-user advocate, driving user needs and goals into both creative and pragmatic design solutions, as well as understand and be enthusiastic about modern web development. You will be experienced in the application of user-centered philosophies and interaction design best practices. You will be able to distill evolving design work into patterns and capture those in articulate and insightful guidance for others to use as a creative springboard.

Responsibilities

Qualified candidates must demonstrate the ability to execute design work with a high standard for quality within time and technical constraints amid competing priorities and ambiguous situations, be mature and have great communication and collaboration skills.

  • Design graphic user interface elements, like wizards, navigation elements, data visualizations, and widgets
  • Apply user-centric approach to design and an understanding of how to apply user research data.
  • Able to collaborate with Enterprise customers to understand their business challenges and opportunities to help identify and prioritize near and long-term user experience goals.
  • Ability to tell compelling project stories to help validate strategic direction of UX excellence in data migration
  • Partner closely with designers, Product managers, and product teams across the globe
  • Conceptualize and iterate on high-quality designs
  • Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality
  • Partner with Product Managers, engineers, researchers and content strategists to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch
  • Represent the team and personal point of view in cross-organization efforts, to accomplish shared goals

Qualifications

  • A degree in Design or related discipline (Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Visual Design) preferred.
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to document user experience and interactivity through wireframes, flowcharts, screenshots, design specifications, and prototype demos.
  • Highly proficient with design applications, like
  • Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate designs.
  • Experience working with other User Experience disciplines (User Research, Visual Design, and User Assistance), as well as Technical disciplines (PM, Dev, Test),
  • Passion for design and ability to effectively share your point of view and expertise with project team members.
  • A working understanding of HTML and experience with agile engineering methods is essential. CSS skills would be a plus but not essential.
