About the opportunity

Role overview

This role will support the UX & Design Lead for the Digital Experience Studio, to progress and enable Fidelity’s Digital agenda and embed digital standards and high-quality design in the Dalian Digital Experience Studio to support the drive for quality, consistency and efficiency in delivering our end user experiences.

Specifically, this role will serve to feed into the UX function in Dalian, ensuring the quality and consistency of our digital products follows our Global Design Standards (GDS), interface with the UX & Design lead, channel experience and service design teams. Make sure that you and your design colleagues follow the correct UCD methodologies, latest thinking, user journeys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as an advocate for Global Digital Experience across the business and maintain strong relationships with you stakeholders and other GDE teams.
  • Act as the UX Assistant Manager in the Digital Experience Studio
  • Work with GDS team and be an advocate for latest UX standards
  • Addressing UX issues collaboratively and work to resolve in an agile way of working with support
  • Champion the good UX practices and help educate your stakeholders of their benefits in your region
  • Responsibility for delivering quality UX output in China
  • Maintain relationships with technology to ensure the correct implementation of our work into code.
  • Act as a mentor to more junior members of the team (P)
  • Contribute to the overall success of the UX&D function in China
  • Work closely to support the SimDigital efficiency programme

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • 5+ years in a UX design role
  • Demonstrable experience of designing and solving UX problems
  • Experience of designing for responsive websites
  • Ability to explain your approach and show how you got to a UX design decision with support
  • Ability to present and defend your work to team members and stakeholders
  • Experience of working harmoniously with technology, marketing and businesses teams to align around creating and implementing digital standards.
  • Experience of working with design systems.
  • Ability to gather, synthesis, understand and communicate customer needs, motivations and behaviors and translate them into Digital experiences using design thinking and related methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience in creating UX artefacts - Journey maps, IA, low-res and hi-res prototypes and wireframes etc.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English with other Asia Pacific language skills welcome
  • Experience in deploying digital best practices for digital based solutions, continuous optimisation within a mid-large organisation

Influencing skills, including communication, negotiation of deadlines and requirements, management of expectation, recommendations, quality of outputs etc.

  • Demonstrable experience of working to conceptual briefs provided by an internal or external stakeholders and clients
