Eaton’s Information Technology division is currently seeking a UX Senior Specialist/Lead to join our team. This position can be based at any Eaton facility in the U.S. and is eligible for a hybrid work setup. Position Overview: Join Eaton’s Information Technology team and help positively impact our business through leading technologies, exciting and challenging enterprise projects, and new platforms. We are transforming to a Product Centric Organization utilizing Agile practices to help us work more incrementally and fluidly, allowing us to respond more quickly to changing business needs. We are currently seeking a UX Strategist/Lead to join our Revenue Generating Value Chains & Platforms. The candidate will be based at any US Eaton facility. Eaton’s Revenue Generating Value Stream has an exciting opportunity for a UX Strategist to lead a team of skilled IT UX employees in defining, designing, developing, and testing user experiences for Eaton's customer-facing digital properties. This role has broad responsibility for user journeys across digital platforms and technologies (web, mobile apps, email, social, chat, digital products, etc) and across all customer personas throughout their relationship (pre-sales, post-sales, etc).This team is responsible for building a world-class digital experiences: seamless, easy to navigate and optimized to meet the information needs of our customers: leading analysis and design on everything from how visitors find our website, where they land, how they engage on social, web, or email and find out about our portfolio offerings, to how they convert into inquiries and leads and return as new customers. The UX Strategist will work directly with senior leaders across Eaton's businesses as well as the IT function to plan and understand business goals, ensure seamless customer experiences, and to prioritize and execute on the capability’s roadmap. They will act as the lead for the UX team, organizing and directing other team members' work and focus. They will be concerned with having a solid UX foundation in each digital product, and best practice and guides in all aspects and stages of the design process, as well as solid UX methodology. This role will lead the gathering of insights and capability needs from a diverse set of stakeholders across marketing, data analytics, IT and operational leaders and bring them to life on the web. Finally, by providing hands-on support and best-in-class process training and coaching, the UX Strategist will guide the business on how to apply the optimal online UX strategies, in order to increase wider business capabilities and understanding in this critical area. In this function you will: Develop and manage a roadmap for digital experience improvements, and coordinate the implementation with relevant IT teams Leverage latest B2B UX trends to support creation of the vision for developing, communicating, and implementing an ongoing optimization of web and digital experiences for persona-based journey Leverage Eaton's journey methodology and findings, by persona, industry type and region, to test and optimize the best possible U Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and engage with users/customers often. You are responsible for feedback and helping the business make decisions based on the value of things according to user research. You and the team will also test the success of new features or change Work with a technical UX architect peer to implement and maintain a front-end design system across customer-facing web properties Leverage web data analytics, research and web visitor feedback insights to clearly identify pain points and gaps in the customer experience and define actions to address Utilize agile methodology (scrum or kanban) to conduct the team's work Regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms for visibility, ensuring the development & enhancement roadmap stays aligned with organization objectives. Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus constraints Make recommendations for team skills and roles to establish a UX center of excellence within IT Consult with various IT web-based product teams on UX best practices and design Work with IT and marketing stakeholders to drive ongoing understanding of and compliance with UX practices When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum 7 years of UX experience Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: 10-15 years of relevant UX experience Experience forming / leading / directing UX teams and programs Experience using design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, InVision, Figma Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript & developing platforms Experience in defining UX frameworks, including user research, developing user flows and journeys, and conducting usability tests Experience in large-scale website development and/or management Experience with global teams Position Criteria: Understanding of SCRUM/ agile software development methodology Excellent understanding of Web CMS (Content Management System) platforms (Adobe Experience Manager a plus) Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with great attention to detail Excellent communication skills - clear, persuasive, and inspiring in both written and verbal communication Demonstrable ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize Must be comfortable presenting ideas to senior level stakeholders, receptive of feedback and quick to apply changes Adaptable in fast, sometimes ambiguous environment Experience working with global cultures, organizations and teams At Eaton, we strive to provide compensation and benefits that attract, engage, and retain the best talent.
