Eaton’s Information Technology division is currently seeking a UX Technical Architect to join our team. This position can be based at any Eaton facility in the U.S. and is eligible for a hybrid work setup. Position Overview: Join Eaton’s Information Technology team and help positively impact our business through leading technologies, exciting and challenging enterprise projects, and new platforms. We are transforming to a Product Centric Organization utilizing Agile practices to help us work more incrementally and fluidly, allowing us to respond more quickly to changing business needs. Eaton’s Revenue Generating Value Chain has an exciting opportunity for a UX Architect to work with a team of skilled IT UX analysts and front-end developers in defining, designing, developing and implementing a design system and components for Eaton's customer-facing digital properties. This team is responsible for driving experience consistency across various websites and applications through adoption and rollout of the design system. This role will be the primary individual responsible for technical oversight of the system, as well as ongoing maintenance and upkeep. They will guide front-end developers in how to properly use the system, and work with UX designers on component creation. The UX Architect will work closely with IT Product Owners and product teams to understand their component needs and design challenges. They will also coordinate with Corporate Branding and other business UI/UX teams who may leverage the design system in Figma. In this function you will: Develop, implement, and maintain a front-end design system Design and develop production-quality, re-usable components for both designers and developers Create illustrative examples demonstrating correct application of components and design patterns Write clear and informative documentation for the platform and all of its resources Support product development teams by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, soliciting enhancement requests, and communicating platform updates Audit product designs and implementations for correct usage of design system Contribute to open-source libraries Stay current with latest trends and best-practices by conducting research and exploring upcoming technology and design developments Work within an agile team environment to populate, prioritize, and execute work-items in continuous delivery methodology Feed your personal growth and development by exploring topics of interest that could improve platform efficiency, quality, or value. Communicate platform updates and changes to teams across the company Consult with various IT web-based product teams on UX best practices and design Work with IT and marketing stakeholders to drive ongoing understanding of and compliance with UX practices When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum of 10 years of UX experience Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship No relocation is provided only candidates that reside within 50 miles of any Eaton U.S. facility will be considered. The active-duty military is exempt from the geographical mile limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience implementing and using a front-end design system using Angular or React Experience using design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision Experience in defining UX frameworks Experience in large-scale website development Position Criteria: Knowledge of Material Design and its open-source implementations Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript & developing platforms Knowledge of Miro Understanding of SCRUM/ agile software development methodology At Eaton, we strive to provide compensation and benefits that attract, engage, and retain the best talent.
