During this program, you will have the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation. Limited relocation housing and/or transportation allowance may be available for eligible candidates.

Finance summer interns will be assigned relevant projects that align with Amgen’s strategic goals and provide cross-functional exposure. Projects may include but are not limited to: building tools to automate data collection, creating reports and presentations for business uses, correlating similar data to find actionable results, applying data science techniques, such as machine learning, statistical modeling, and artificial intelligence to business use case scenarios, variance analyses and/or industry benchmarking analyses. Additional responsibilities may include supporting various ad-hoc projects related to Amgen’s overall business operations. Interns also participate in an intensive one-week case study where they gain exposure to all aspects of Amgen’s business in a team environment.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
  • Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Concentration in Economics, Business Administration, Biotechnology Management, Accounting, Finance or Data Science/Analytics
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of basic data analytical principles
  • Prior work experience
  • 3.3 GPA and above
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word as well as UI Path, Alteryx and Tableau.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay focused on priorities in a fast paced environment in order to meet deadlines
  • Must be a strong team player who is able to collaborate with colleagues on complex assignments
  • Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
  • Junior standing with graduation in either December 2022 or Summer 2023
