University English Language Lector/ Senior Lector Job Description:
1. Location: Wuhan city, Hubei province, China.
2. Contract Term: three academic year, Sep. 2024- Sep. 2027.
3. Students Age: 22-24 years old (postgraduate students).
4. Work Days: work on Mondays to Fridays, two days off on weekends.
5. Work Hours: 12 teaching hours a week, no office hours.
6. Duties: research methods in applied linguistics, statistics in applied linguistics and English academic writing.
Senior lector participates in teaching-related professional activities, such as workshops, seminars, training activities and conferences.
Remuneration and Benefits:
1. Salary: CNY13,500 - 15,000 monthly.
2. Accommodation: free independent apartment with free utilities.
3. Meals: free working meals.
4. Vacation: full paid three months vacation a year.
5. Holidays: full paid 11 days Chinese public holidays.
6. Airfare Allowance: CNY11,000-CNY16,000 a year.
7. Insurance: accident insurance and health insurance provided.
8. Travel Allowance: CNY4,000 a year.
9. Work Visa: yes.
Requirements:
1. Near-native fluency in English.
2. PhD degree or the equivalent, relevant majors.
3. Experience in curriculum development and incorporating technology in the classroom is desirable.
4. Research profile in foreign language pedagogy is a plus.
5. Candidate has experience teaching English in a Chinese university or equivalent to heritage and non-heritage learners, using current teaching methodologies is preferred.
6. Candidate has research methods of applied linguistics and statistic skills in SPSS, R or Python is preferred.
7. Candidate has three publications in SSCI-indexed journals is preferred.
