Job Description
University English EAP Teachers needed

Location: Harbin ( Heilongjiang Province),

Starting date: August, 2026

Responsibilities:
• Deliver English for Academic Purposes programs to Chinese university students who may transfer to overseas universities in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
• Carry out administrative functions in a timely and accurate manner, including but not restricted to recording attendance, providing written feedback on student assessment.
• Address individual student needs and concerns both inside and outside the classroom.
• Actively participate in and encourage professional development activities with local teachers.
• Attend weekly meetings
• Help create a team environment and contribute to the delivery of quality English language courses.

Requirements:
• Master’s degree or above
• Teaching certificates like CELTA, TEFL or TESOL
• Minimum of one-year EAP teaching experience at a recognised provider preferred
• Reading • Writing • Listening • Speaking • Research Skills
• Online teaching experience preferred
• Native English Speaker

6. The flight allowance is 3500/ per semester

Workload:
This is a full-time role based on a 38-hour working week. Timetables are determined by the host university and may involve classes scheduled between 8:00am and 8:00pm.
Teaching Hours (Approx. 20–21 hours)
• Up to 28 sessions face-to-face weekly
• Two sessions generally equal one class
• Sessions range from 40–50 minutes depending on location
Non-Teaching Hours (Approx. 17–18 hours)
• Office hours (up to 18 weekly)
• Meetings
• Lesson preparation
• English Corner participation
• Student support
• Tutorials
• Marking

The academic day can be long, often including:
• Morning classes: 8:00am–12:00pm
• Afternoon classes: until 5:00pm or 6:00pm
• Evening study sessions: until 9:00pm
* Please take note that classes on occasion, may be scheduled up until 8pm.

• Autumn Semester: Begins in late August or Early September
• Spring Semester: Begins in late February or Early March
Major vacation periods include:
• Winter Break: January–February (aligned with Lunar New Year / Spring Festival)
• Summer Break: July–August
Public holidays or university events may require classes to be rescheduled.
Please note that International Academics may be required to work during holidays significant to their own culture or religion (e.g., Easter, Christmas, Ramadan). If leave is required for important cultural or religious observances, staff should notify at least two weeks in advance. Approval is not guaranteed.
