Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Openly collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, accepting mentoring and guidance
- Develop urban design strategies that support corporate, commercial and healthcare projects throughout the greater China region.
- Contribute to the development of high-performance urban design, planning and public realm concepts
- Produce rapid visualization analyses and concepts that can be transformed into built works
- Help win the right work – profitable, innovative, and aligned with NBBJ’s Asia strategy
- Conduct research and stay current with best planning and urban design practices in the Asia region and around the world.
- Advance NBBJ’s reputation as a leader in design by building strong client relationships, participating in industry conferences and assisting in social media communications
Skills and Qualifications (required unless otherwise noted):
- 8+ years of experience in the design profession with a focus in Urban Design & Planning.
- Dual degrees in Urban Design & Architecture or Landscape Architecture highly desired and will be given preference.
- LEED Accredited professionals are desired.
- Digital design tools, hand sketching and physical model making capabilities required
- Required knowledge of 3D modeling capabilities in Rhino (including Grasshopper) highly desired
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with Revit and/or GIS a plus
- Excellent computer rendering, massing and other graphic visualization skills
- Strong bilingual verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin highly desired
- Agile approach and attitude towards projects as career development opportunities
- Strong interest, experience and/or expertise in sustainable design practices
- Experience and comfortable with multidisciplinary and multi-cultured design teams
- Capabilities in multimedia story telling for analysis and design preferred

- Involvement with professional planning organizations
- Research directions in ecology, density, transportation, housing, mixed-use, zoning, land use, urban form and morphology, etc.

- Working toward planning certification (and/or licensure in related field)
