The District Sales Manager (DM) / Senior District Sales Manager (SR DM) will lead a team of 6 specialty representatives/territory managers in the Urology Franchise, headquartered in the Indianapolis/ Chicago areas. This position will be responsible for driving sales in the territories headquartered in Chicago, Indiana and Michigan and their respective key accounts and academic centers. The DM/SR DM will coordinate commercial activity across in-field teams to ensure targets are reached for increasing sales and market share within the assigned geography, and will create, implement, communicate, and execute district sales plans to achieve and sustain high performance. In this role, the DM/SR DM will be responsible for developing strong strategic plans and tactical plans to generate growth through exceptional in-field partnerships with other key internal stakeholders, including sales training, marketing, and sales operations. The DM/SR DM will also develop relationships with top accounts and decision makers and look for novel solutions to increase HCP access and business growth. The DM/SR DM will demonstrate exceptional coaching and development of direct reports and ensure that all employees are held accountable for performance results. The manager will embody the AbbVie Talent Philosophy and effectively build a strong team culture. The DM/SR DM will demonstrate proficiency in performance management and partner with the Regional Sales Director to ensure that goals and objectives are successfully achieved through strong performance coaching/feedback, resource optimization, and in-field team collaboration. Key Responsibilities Include: Coordinate in-field activity to achieve results and agreed-upon targets. Maximize market, segment, and team dynamics to drive both top- and bottom-line results. Ensure smooth, collaborative efforts in both day to day and long-term business execution. Set tone and pace for business process and organization. Understand and present a market and franchise/business point of view when leading teams and championing in-field meetings by developing a mastery of product and disease state information, as well as pertinent market dynamics, including the market access and health systems landscape(s). Coach, mentor, educate and develop direct and indirect team members to enhance individual skills and elevate overall team performance. Hold direct reports accountable to behaviors and sales expectations. Provide direction and insights to key internal partners in business planning process. Consistently model AbbVie’s Talent Philosophy. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. MBA 10+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience (or comparable device or diagnostic sales) Knowledge and experience with Medicare Part A, B, C, and D; buy and bill procurement. Several home office or field roles with experiences in a marketing, sales training, sales operations, account management, or leadership training. Prior DM/SR DM experience, including proven results leading high performing teams and developing sales personnel. Business analysis and planning skills that drive sales performance. Excellent judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to articulate the scientific aspects of treatments within therapeutic areas. Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate, and candid feedback. Demonstrate proficiency in performance management. Develop talent to consistently raise the bar on performance. Ability to create a culture of winning and full team engagement. Collaborates and can influence without authority across organization.
