We are looking for a VAT specialist whose main responsability will be keep up to date on Legislation related to VAT, ESL and Intrastat in the countries under the responsibility of the Cornella SSC VAT accounting team.  Specially focus in the application of legislative changes in the VAT accounting processes.
Participate in special projects either based on business requests or support of internal team projects for continuous improvement of processes and data quality, by being the subject matter expert for VAT processes.
To participate on internal & external financial audits. Support the local and tax organization particularly in case of tax audits.
Support the VAT team members in the tasks related with the VAT accounting processes including the preparation of the VAT returns and other declarations mandatory in the countries in the scope of the Cornella SSC VAT accounting team.
The job holder is a SAP Power user for VAT items, responsible amongst other tasks to enter Remedy Tickets, to assign VAT roles to other VAT accountants, perform testing in SAP, participate in the configuration of the VAT conditions, rate changes, etc… and other tasks related with a PU role.
The job holder is responsible to deal with other GBSS departments on behalf of the VAT team for tracking of VAT issues.

Professional Experience and Education

Degree in Accounting or Finance (or similar qualifications)
Three years’ experience within an accounting position
Additional 1 year experience in the VAT Accounting function
General knowledge of VAT in EMEA
Working experience in an international environment
SAP knowledge and experience specific to the VAT area of expertise
MS Office: High technical competence in Excel and Access

Good interpersonal and communicative skills (verbal and written)
Planning and prioritizing own workload to meet deadlines, strong time-management skills
Working under time pressure and as part of a team
Ability to provide accurate execution of all tasks
Ability to identify and contribute to issue resolution functional and cross- functionally
