1. GENERAL SUMMARY:

The VAVE Engineer is responsible for reducing direct material cost through VAVE, supplier change and design change. They will lead projects by pulling together drawing, specification packages and managing test/validation plans. Moreover, they will analyze and recommend future projects that will result in improved instrument cost, performance and quality. The candidate will work effectively with a cross functional/global staff. This position provides an opportunity to develop new processes across a highly technical organization.

2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enlist resources to drive projects in line with skills required (e.g. Electrical/Mechanical/Optical etc.).

• Response for multi-source& new supplier development for optimize material cost and support new project development.

• Drive both of internal and external process optimization within engineering spec’s and use cases innovation to reduce direct material cost.

• Drive design change to reduce direct material cost and improve instrument function and quality.

• Generate verification and validation tests plans and responsible for qualification to prove out production changes before cut in.

• Update designs, drawings, engineering data and engineering releases as needed.

• Build straightforward cost summaries to justify efforts.

• Update designs in engineering database e.g. CAD, ECAD, and Firmware etc.
  

3. REQUIREMENTS:

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar) with excellent English communication ability.

• 5+ years of engineering, systems or VAVE design experience.

• Experience in lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methods desirable.

• Profession of plastics, metal and mechanical parts. Awareness of optics, electrical circuit boards, Familiar with project software.

• Familiar with lab test standard and process.

• Results oriented – has track record for delivering results, takes ownership and is accountable

• Continuous improvement oriented – has familiarity with lean principles and how to apply them for sustainable results in a product development and manufacturing setting.
