Job Description

Eaton’s Power System division is currently seeking a VAVE Engineering Leader to join our team. This position is based at our Queretaro´s facility.

Some activities related with the position will be:

  • Prepare, compile, review and control engineering department technical informational material for existing and new products, which include part number creation, changes in drawings, list of materials (BOM) and technical specifications.

  • Collaborate with Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers to validate Design for Manufacturability and Assembly.

  • To play an active role in Design Reviews, development of DFMEAs and Engineering drawings where necessary.

  • Drive actions to improve design accuracy related to drawings, BOM and technical specifications.

  • Coordinate VAVE events, pre-work, and financially vetting ideas.

  • Coordinate and manage VAVE deck across all product lines, tracking savings and projects on a monthly basis to drive strategy on VAVE activities to achieve cost out goal

  • Execute multiple projects related to value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) through execution of these projects in a timely manner, supporting the business goals and Profit Plan objectives

  • Provide support to design engineering team in all product related information.

  • Manage and set direction for team in regards of procedures to follow, engineering policies and priorities

  • Promote and develop team members capacity on technical skills and competences per Eaton Leadership Model.

  • Improve team productivity and internal process by development of process and tools.

  • Participate in department ISO 9000 certification activities and oversees audits to ISO 9000 procedures and work instructions representing the design engineering department.

  • Participate in the identification of risks to avoid incident and injuries (I Choose Zero)

  • Follows EBS Ethics, Values and Philosophy.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 3 year of professional experience in engineering (product support). Knowledge of electric power distribution products is a plus.

  • Proficiency in engineering modules using SAP is required (Data-entry and maintenance of BOMs and drawings in SAP).

  • Ability to guide best design practices and design robustness.

  • Microsoft Office suit proficiency
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others in a high paced environment (in Spanish and English)

  • 3D modeling and 2D detailing (CAD) experience (Pro/Engineer [Creo 2.0] Inventor and AutoCAD preferred).

  • Knowledge on GD&T application is needed.
  • Experience supervising people.
