The VDC Quality Manager is responsible for the operation of the Quality Management System for BMW Group Products and Processes within the Port Jersey Vehicle Distribution Center (VDC). As a representative of management, you will be the operational quality point of contact for all US VDCs with Plant representatives, and TV-65 with respect to specific current quality issues.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • QAD (Quality Alert Document) reporting to manufacturing plants worldwide serving the US market.
  • The lead operational quality liaison for the US Market to TV-65 and all Plant contacts regarding quality feedback on specific, current quality issues.
  • Responsible for conducting calibration activities relating to Q-gate at all other VDC Facilities
  • The reporting aspect of Q-gate and Exit Check processes, including all associated quality audits deemed necessary within the VDC.
  • Lead and Facilitate Continual improvement activities; VPS(Value-added Production System) & Lean Six Sigma, working with Management to define such activities and conclude with defined outcomes to agreed deadlines
  • Ensure all necessary quality audits are carried out to BMW Group Standards, and ensure follow up Continuous Improvement activities are carried out to ensure monthly target is met.
  • Coordinate and lead the Corrective Action process in PJVDC, ensuring at all times that an effective investigation is carried out, agreed actions are followed up, and changes to process are robust and documented. Ensure all associated documentation is updated, and all (re) training is carried out correctly and within agreed timeframes.
  • Liaison with Technical Services for research and validation of product or process that influence VDC’s operations.
  • High school Diploma
  • Experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  • 3+ years of process development, analysis or automotive logistics

Preferences

  • College Degree
  • Experience in Quality Control
  • OEM experience
  • PDCA, Continuous Improvement, knowledge and application.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt training or higher is preferred
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office product
