The clinical manager will provide strategic oversight of clinical programs and make key decisions on how clinical studies should be implemented to ensure high quality outcomes and animal welfare compliance. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to lead clinical activities for VMRD at Suzhou including:

1) Providing project teams expertise advice on clinical plans and study executions.

2) Planning, preparation and conduct of clinical trials

3) Identification and evaluation of 3 rd party trial facilities

4) VMRD project leadership as appropriate

5) Providing adequate training to VMRD colleagues involved in clinical work.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as clinical subject matter expert to VMRD project teams.
• Facilitate discussion and agreement for animal supplies and trial facilities.
• Maintain trial records as appropriate.
• Manage animal trial facilities.
• Work with lab scientists and GMS colleagues on trial vaccine requirement and sample analysis schedules.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Indicate the formal education, certification or license required and/or preferred. Include the minimum number of years of relevant experience required for the position (where legally permissible).

• Tertiary qualification in veterinary medicine and is a certified practicing veterinarian
• > 5 year good experiences in clinical trials and their application in vaccine development compatible with Chinese MOA requirements
• Good understanding of GCP and animal welfare practices.
• Mastery of scientific principles, practices and theories
• Ability to provide guidance and training

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Indicate the technical skills required and/or preferred, as applicable.

• Effective interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross functional and culturally diverse work environment. The ability to confidently assert a technical position in the face of opposition.
• Understanding of GCP requirements and Animal welfares
• Understanding of MOA regulatory and quality requirements.

• Demonstrated capability to effectively apply knowledge, lead multiple activities and balance priorities

• Demonstrated excellence in planning and organizational skills
• Fluent in Mandarin and English
• Comprehensive demonstrated skills in communication (oral and written) - particularly technical writing
• Willingness to travel, including international travel, as needed (~50%)
• Ability to work as an effective team member
