What you will be doing: Key responsibilities

Reporting directly to Partner Consulting, your role will encompass:

  • Building and leading the Data Division for the country as part of the country leadership (a partnership structure, similar to those found in Management Consulting firms)
  • Harnessing the expertise from the other Divisions (Activation, Creativity, and Strategy) to provide comprehensive services to your clients
  • Developing privileged relationships with our clients’ C-level executives, using your technical abilities to assist in the transformation of their marketing department, and ensuring that Artefact is their preferred partner in this endeavour

Among your responsibilities as VP Data, you will be responsible for:

Developing the country’s Data Division

  • Developing and Managing the Data capabilities, offerings (products, services), processes and procedures
  • Managing the Division’s human capital, assessing needs and the process to attract and retain the best talents from the Data and the digital space
  • Organising the Division’s staffing pool, ensuring delivery on client projects and the Division’s skills management
  • Promoting the Division’s brand, communicating its successes and results at country level (ex: through events and PR)
  • Working with the Partner to build and maintain strong relationships with your clients and best understand their strategic needs

Developing Artefact’s technical expertise

  • Demonstrating the skill and credibility required to ensure the success of our clients’ initiatives
  • Researching and developing new technical approaches to address problems efficiently
  • Working with Artefact’s partners to understand and leverage the latest technologies
  • Sharing best practices and contributing to Artefact’s institutional knowledge

Being a great tech manager

  • Leading by example, embodying Artefact’s values and inspiring others to do the same
  • Caring for the happiness of your team whilst guiding them to be the best they can be, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard and providing feedback and mentoring
  • Knowing the role of a manager in a team’s success

Qualifications: Education & experience required

  • A Master’s degree in machine learning, software engineering, computer science, or related fields
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience developing and applying data-driven solutions in a corporate or consulting setting, preferably in a consumer marketing context (experience in the web industry is a plus)
  • Experience managing and training technical teams in a business context
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of data processing, data modeling, algorithms, and data architecture
  • Intellectual curiosity and excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to structure and prioritise an approach for maximum impact
