Position Summary: As GSS’ Validation and QA engineer, you shall implement a strategy for testing and validation for GSS products and solutions before they are launched. As an important member within a startup like team, you’ll embrace the can-do spirit, exercising your creativity and resourcefulness to overcome quality challenges, and help the team and product perform better for our market and customers. Responsibilities: 1\. Work with Product Owner and Validation Team to define test strategy, methodology and scope 2\. Understand the ins and outs of GSS home-grown products, as well as partner solutions 3\. Identify key KPIs for product & solutions quality 4\. Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases for relevant products and solutions 5\. Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities with developers, and advise Product Owner and/or Project Manager of efforts required and risks involved 6\. Whenever necessary, explore and recommend tools required for each product and solution 7\. Carry out testing work for GSS home-grown products, as well as to validate partner solutions 8\. Willing to configure and setup the necessary hardware, devices, systems, connectivity, and software components (application, database, API end points etc.) as needed in order to complete the planned test scope 9\. Identify and document defects found during testing including steps to reproduce, and assign severity level, then work with developers/ODM/OEM to follow up on problem resolution and fixes 10\. Identify and document issues and bugs, and follow through with problem resolution and fixes 11\. Review bugs status and produce test report for Product or Business Owner’s approval 12\. Support Lenovo’s security review and compliance process when needed, coordinating with development/OEM partners as well as the security team to audit the products and solutions, making sure that milestones are achieved prior to declaring that the product and solution is good for General Availability (GA) phase. #### Position Requirements: Experience/Qualifications 1\. Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or Information Technology, or possess relevant certifications in terms of technology or software quality control/assurance 2\. Minimum 2 years of QC or QA experience in a software products development or IoT solution development environment 3\. Possess solid knowledge in software and industrial QA methodologies, tools and process 4\. Strong knowledge in IoT, Web, Internet and/or mobile applications technologies. Experience in enterprise grade cloud-based platforms would be an advantage. 5\. Familiar with the concept of User Centered Design (UCD), and is able to analyse and understand target users or customers’ needs and requirements 6\. Hands on experience with: • Writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases • Black Box testing and White Box testing • Being part of an Agile/Scrum team, able to digest requirements written in the format of “user stories” and wireframes 7\. Bi-lingual ability: Proficient in spoken and written English, and some degree of fluency in Mandarin is a huge plus 8\. Emphatic towards different cultures and has the desire to work with a global team 9\. Willingness to work with teams located in different time zones 10\.
