Eaton's Electrical Sector, Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure (CPDI) division is currently seeking a Validation Test Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC facility. Relocation benefits will be offered with this role. Eaton's Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure Division in Raleigh, NC is looking for a Validation Test Engineer to support our product development and design of Electrical Vehicle Charging products. This position is responsible for both new product design introductions and sustaining engineering design changes, including product performance, safety agency compliance and product reliability testing. In this function you will: Develop project test plans, prepare test facilities and required instrumentation. Coordinate technician resources in support of project test plan. Analyze test data for determination of validity and product compliance to specifications. Prepare test data materials for submittal to safety agencies. Formally document product design issues and specification non-conformances along with subsequent corrective action taken. Provide feedback to project teams on test activities, open issues and project schedule. Organize test data and prepare test reports. Develops and maintains status in UL Client Data Test program to meet project requirements. Participate in global test and design reviews. Define safety procedures and requirements in test cell, as instituted by Eaton EHS and local representatives. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of one (1) year professional work experience or internship in electrical engineering or manufacturing. Must be authorized to work in United State without company sponsorship, now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of product test methods. Familiarity with EV charging, electrical storage, and power conversion systems. Experience with new product development efforts preferred. Training on Design for Six Sigma concepts preferred. Position Criteria: Experience with automated functional test development (hardware & software) with working knowledge of a high level programming language (C/C++ Preferred). Familiarity with electronic instrumentation software device driver development. Experience with electronic measuring systems and applications such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, data-loggers, dielectric analyzers, etc. Will work in lab environment around high voltage where safety awareness is critical. Attention to detail Excellent verbal/ written communications. Position requires an individual who is self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, task oriented, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements. Familiarity with common tools and methods to work in high power lab (480V) environment, oscilloscope, power analyzers and meters.
