Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Value, Access and Policy Senior Manager colleague to our Budapest office.

Main purpose of the job:

Development and execution of integrated national value, access and policy/advocacy/government affairs as well as pricing strategy in collaboration with country management that delivers against overall long-term business strategy
Negotiations with Hungarian government authorities to gain/maintain reimbursement for Amgen’s products.
Strategic leadership of external engagement plans and senior spokes person for Amgen Hungary
Development and implementation of Hungarian policy plan and accountable for critical relationships with government, advocacy groups  and other key external stakeholders

Responsibilities

Access: Gain & maintain access and reimbursement for inline products to help deliver Amgen’s near-term success, and develop effective access strategies for pipeline products to support the company’s future success. Coordinate planning assumptions for short- and long-term activities for entry strategies.

Evidence:  Develop and execute clinical and health economic evidence generation strategies to demonstrate the value Amgen brings to patients, providers and health systems.

Policy, Govt. Affairs & Advocacy:  Develop & execute healthcare policy, government relations and customer/stakeholder engagement strategies to shape our environment, working as Amgen and via industry associations (AIPM, VÉDETTSÉG, AMCHAM).

Pricing & Contracting:  Develop & execute innovative pricing and contracting strategies, within governance, to deliver value to customers and secure an appropriate return on our investment.

Reputation: Build & leverage Amgen’s reputation as a credible, science-based thought leader that makes meaningful contributions to patients, providers, health systems and society.

Collaboration: Partner effectively with Amgen commercial, medical and functional colleagues to support Amgen’s business and mission.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master’s degree with 10  years of directly related experience in similar position at innovathive pharmaceutical company
  • Experience in commercial (sales and/or marketing) in pharmaceutical company is advantage
  • Degree in Health Care Management (Policy / Planning / Health Care Financing / Health Economics / Public Affairs) Strong understanding of payer and government environment in Hungary, including reimbursement, pricing and contracting, value drivers, formulary management, HTA policy and government affairs/policy/advocacy.
  • Native Hungarian and Fluent English skills
  • Ability to use Digital technology, computer systems
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, and engage in productive debate and collaboration with senior leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and succeed in a highly-matrixed environment.
  • Strong oral/written presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic planning skills—both at the product and country (cross-portfolio) levels.
  • Ability to conduct situation analysis of external environment and synthesize relevant information for business strategies and support development of country-specific strategic plans.
  • Ability to identify compelling ways to demonstrate and communicate product value to payers.
  • Direct payer experience and/or experience in product commercialization
  • National experience and track record of achievements
  • Strategic planning and health policy experience
  • Strong understanding of strategic pricing and contracting, including innovative approaches such as risk-sharing deals
  • Mature business person who has experience in delivering on political access for pharmaceuticals in the country
  • Savvy outlook including deep understanding of government policy, commercial and business issues in the region gained from years of relevant experience
  • Understands how to engage and mobilize patient advocacy groups to take appropriate action in support of specific issues, such as access, and to support Amgen and the biopharmaceutical industry overall.
  • Skilled at advocacy, influence and persuasion: able to convince others to act on information or recommendations based on compelling logic or common best interests
  • Possesses unquestionable integrity and a sense of confidence, balanced with humility and sense of humor.
