Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Platform Applications Engineer (PAE) within the Wireless Access Networks Division (WAND). The job will be based out of Intel's Eindhoven office, The Netherlands.


You will be part of a team, contributing to delivering software development kits and programming tools to Intel internal and 3rd party engagements. This job includes being point contact for bugs found, 1st level support, giving training and preparing customer friendly documentation and presentations.
The emphasis of this position lies with build processes and automation systems supporting a multi-site, cross-platform development environment. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Preparing training material for internal and external use

  • Give technical training

  • Prepare customer presentations

  • First/second line support for 3rd party engagements

  • Maintaining bug database

  • Customer support is logged and tracked through a ticketing system and the expectation is that you will fully engage with this, manage the criticality of customer issues and make sure you get the help you need to get these resolved in a timely manner.

  • Share responsibility for the hardware/firmware/software builds and CI processes, including build system automation, nightly builds and build replication.

  • Provide timely support for the build management tooling

  • Solid written and verbal communication for expressing technical ideas and initiatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent, with at least four years of relevant software development experience

  • Experience in writing documentation, customer presentations, etc.

  • Proficient in configuration management - generating software builds, debugging build failures, scripting, automating builds, etc.

  • English communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent knowledge on software version control, configuration management tools,

  • Experience working with build processes based on Linux/GNU make files

  • Self-motivated creative problem solver

  • Excellent technical communication skills to support a worldwide team
