Vehicle Launch Project and Supplier Networks Co-op (Spring 2022)

Job Description

This is a co-op position which requires three alternating rotations (e. g. 1st rotation: spring, 2nd rotation: fall, 3rd rotation: summer).

The Steering and Central Functions Americas Group is responsible for steering Vehicle Launch Projects and Supplier Networks. This role will support the project leaders (international and domestic) on Vehicle Launch Projects as well as being assigned individual projects to optimize current processes and coordinate with other departments.

The qualified co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

  • Collaborate with and steer Quality Engineers to achieve the project milestones (parts maturity, quality checks, process status, analysis of supplier capacities, etc.) for Vehicle Launch Projects.
  • Present project status overview to project leaders.
  • Organize and support project events (test builds, supplier requalification, etc.).
  • Support development of process improvement projects.
  • Ongoing Vehicle Launch Projects.
  • Optimization of current vehicle launch processes.

  • Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management / Business / Industrial Engineer.
  • Intermediate Excel skills and Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Ability to learn quickly (processes, terminology and knowledge of the product).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills (ability to manage and complete multiple
    projects, as scheduled).
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) needed for interaction with other
    departments, management and culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently, have flexibility and be proactive.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in manufacturing or automotive processes, preferred.
  • German language skills are a plus.
  • Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to complete 3 alternating work terms for Co-op positions. 
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. 
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term. 
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE (January 3rd - May 6th).
