Vendor Business Relationship Owner Job Description:

ADI Engineering Enablement (EE) is seeking an experienced Business Relationship Manager to oversee business relationships with our many Electronic Design Automation (EDA) vendors, and development of new processes, methods and capabilities that enable us to maximise value from these relationships for ADI. The successful candidate will be responsible for multi-million-dollar relationships spanning vast technical areas in deep collaboration with teams of technical experts, taking responsibility for contract implementation and renewals, vendor scorecards, influencing procurement strategy and vendor selection, etc.  

 

These vendor relationships will support Engineering Enablement’s mission to build world-class design and execution platforms for ADI in support of ADI’s dedication to solving the toughest engineering challenges.

 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders such as EE leadership, EE technical experts, Business Unit (BU) Engineering leads, Quality and Manufacturing to deepen relationships with ADI’s EDA partners.
  • Own, execute and renew contracts with several vendors including:
    • Contract negotiation to maximise value for ADI
    • Manage spend during contract execution
    • Identify ways to deepen and continuously improve partnerships with key EDA vendors
    • Ensure compliance to complex T&Cs
    • Monitor usage of licenses
  • Engage with Legal, Purchasing and Finance departments to align with wider legal, procurement and financial requirements and develop standards for EDA vendor management.
  • Assist in shaping EE vendor strategies for vendor management.
  • Monitor EDA industry to identify new potential partnerships.

 

The ideal candidate …

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience, in silicon development or HW systems design
  • Experience in vendor management desired (especially EDA) but not essential
  • Proven success in leading or membership of cross functional teams using indirect management skills
  • Experience with multi-site, multi-geographical development is desired
  • Strong planning and organizations skills, must be able to:
    • set and manage priorities,
    • adapt to change,
    • drive timely closure of activities, issues, risks, and deliverables.
  • A problem solver, able to quickly assess situations, collect relevant information or input from subject matter experts and drive solutions.
  • Able to act decisively and make clear and timely decisions which are in the best interests of ADI.
  • Creative and innovative. Demonstrates a willingness to explore new options to bridge business challenges.
  • Big picture view; demonstrates an ability to identify and address challenges across organizational, functional and project boundaries.
  • A nature of staying focused on solutions and ability to remain positive even under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage the detail to the target audience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, foster teamwork and bridge differences to achieve goals.
  • (The selected candidate will be joining an experienced team and will receive guidance and training to build out the desired skillset)
