Job Description
Role
- You will be responsible for identifying and on boarding suppliers which fit into the buying and assortment strategy for categories - apparel, shoes and accessories
- You will negotiate with suppliers on: commercials lead times, quality, and other terms and conditions
- You will do continuous business development and market visits to add new vendors who can further improve the assortment variety and quality
- You will setup and review supplier onboarding guidelines and optimize onboarding times.
- You will actively work with suppliers to optimize sourcing cost and lead times.
- You will oversee supplier performance on a regular basis, including fulfillment rate, delivery compliance, and adherence to quality standards.
- You will serve as liaison between the supplier and on ground supply chain team to ensure smooth flow of goods.
- You will monitor daily order execution/ fill-rate by suppliers and delivery compliance, including quality adherence and trouble shoot and resolve supplier issues.
- You will conduct Quality Check to ensure minimum defects.
- You will escalate issues wherever necessary and, share status reports to category managers and buying leads for issue resolution as required.
- You will identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with buying team to solve chronic supplier issues.
Responsibilities
- You have 4-6 years of experience in e-commerce market development or have been working with these specific category suppliers in the relevant markets in China
- You have a great pulse on the sourcing landscape in China and understand pricing and quality across the different markets
- You have strong oral and written communication skills – both in English and Mandarin
- You have ability to build and manage long standing vendor relationships.
- You have strong persuasion and negotiation skills, and outstanding project management abilities.
- You have a passion for the product range & an eye for trends
- You have ability to coordinate with diverse internal/external stakeholders, attention to detail and willingness to drive towards results
- You have hands on experience of dealing with global suppliers, particularly in China, S.E. Asia, and Europe.
- You have exemplary people management and team leadership skills.
- You understand key drivers for brand development, new product development, sourcing (including negotiating with manufacturers), and quality assurance
