Job Description
Duties & responsibilities:
-Teacher role:
1. Responsible for specific lesson plan and course design, and delivering of lessons to a
range of classes operated by Kaplan Qingdao centre.
2. Marking homework, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of students’
progress and development;
3. Helping students in all areas of the curriculum;
4. Researching new topic areas and maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge;
5. Managing students’ behavior in the classroom and on school premises, and applying
appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehavior;
6. Participating in and organizing extracurricular activities;
7. Participating in departmental meetings, parents' meetings and whole school training
events, and contacting parents for updating students’ academic performance;
8. Other duties assigned by direct supervisor.
-Vice Academic Principal Role:
1. Assistant the Academic Principal to achieve teaching objectives and student’s
management of the center;
2. Make teaching proposal for A-level and IFY programs subject teaching, for Academic
Principal and Center principal to approve;
3. Responsible for subject teaching faculty training and assist Principal in new teacher
hiring;
4. Monitor and coach the subject teachers’ daily and weekly teaching plan, for Academic
Principal and Center principal to approve;
5. Approve selected teaching material by subject teacher, approve collected teaching
material for all subject and manage it effectively;
6. Timely monitor the subject teaching quality to ensure teaching quality improvements;
Support teaching assessment and program development.
7. Support Academic Principal to coordinate with overseas academic institutions;
8. Responsible for testing and marking arrangements;
9. Communicate and interact closely with relevant departments; effective communication
with students and parents
10. Responsible for periodical work summary and produce termly and yearly report;
11. Assist to manage the introduction of new programs at delivery centers;
12. Support marketing activities at local center

Job Requirement:
(a) Essential Requirements and Experience
1) Academic qualification at post-graduate or equivalent level or relevant professional
qualifications
2) Normally a minimum of five years teaching experience
3) Normally a minimum of three years education management experience
4) An understanding of Western and Chinese higher education system
5) An understanding of international postsecondary courses as well as the needs and
requirements of international students
6) Experience of academic assessment and standards and of quality assurance
procedures
7) Potentials and experiences in the development of academic programs
