The Role
The Vice-President plays a crucial role in assisting the College President to lead a young, non-profit and self-financed institution which is poised to grow and develop further in the coming years. The Vice-President will have broad strategic responsibilities and management responsibilities and works closely with all unit heads.
Appointment criteria
Prospective candidates should hold a Doctoral degree in Education or related discipline, a higher degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred. Applicants should have executive leadership, a strong understanding of the Hong Kong Higher Education sector, and
- possess the necessary intellectual qualities inclusive of a strong aspiration and commitment in leading the College in its pursuit of academic and professional excellence in Early Childhood Education (ECE);
- have a strong vision of the College’s role, commitment and future developments in Higher Education not only in Hong Kong, but also in Greater China, the Asia-Pacific region and internationally;
- be able to lead a cross-cultural, closely knit academic and ECE practitioner community and demonstrate the ability to build a united team, resolve conflicts, and manage change; and
- be able to strategically leverage upon and strengthen inherent synergies between YCCECE and its sponsoring body as well as its network of sister institutions, and thus further building the unique “brand” and market positioning of YCCECE.
