About the Department
The Department of International Affairs at Vision Overseas is responsible for establishing and maintaining external partnerships and collaborative efforts with non-Chinese academic institutions, educational organizations, governmental agencies and Embassies. With over 500 existing educational partners globally, the Department serves as the “face” of Vision Overseas, liaising and creating external connections which will allow Chinese students to have transparency and be more informed about their study abroad options and decisions. Additionally, the Department supports its partnership network by educating and informing institutions and organizations abroad about China and Chinese talent. Members of the Department of International Affairs work cross-culturally and cross-functionally on a daily basis.

Job Scope
Lead and manage the Department of International Affairs to increase and manage partnership portfolio of leading academic programs, institutions, and educational organizations and governmental agencies (e.g., Embassies) in regions such as the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and Asia
Serve as the main contact for all external and legally binding contracts formed between Vision Overseas and external academic institutions and educational organizations
Work collaboratively across multiple departments (internally and externally) to plan and coordinate events, troubleshoot and resolve client issues, build and maintain relationships effectively, professionally, and ethically, and create innovative programs and initiatives to grow Vision Overseas’ leadership position in the industry
Represent the Company and sometimes the parent company during meetings with current and prospective partners, including, but not limited to external meetings, conferences, training, and seminars
Manage and oversee public-facing events and exhibitions
Design and implement external marketing and PR strategies to further increase and enhance Vision Overseas’ brand awareness externally

Knowledge and Qualifications for the Role
Educated to degree level (minimum undergraduate degree), preferably with international education experience and/or an advanced degree from a leading academic institution
Extensive knowledge of the education sector, especially international education (e.g., key players, trends)

Skills/Experience Required
Strong leadership skills and professional experience - a minimum of five years of work experience, with at least two years of direct managerial experience
Strong interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with senior level management within academic institutions and educational organizations
Successful track record of securing high end clients through effective negotiation and relationship building
Professional fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English (reading/writing/listening/speaking)
Excellent project and time management prioritization to meet deadlines efficiently with the ability to work under pressure and sustain a high level of professionalism
Adaptable and flexible, able to manage ambiguity and change
A team player, but also a self-starter able to operate independently
Extensive experience working cross-culturally and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment with strong results for leading and influencing
Exceptional communication skills with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
Working experience in China preferred

Other Considerations
This role will require frequent work during the weekends as many student-facing events are organized during this time. This is a full-time position and is a largely external facing role, which may require occasional travel in China and internationally.
