Job Description
The Vice President, Chief Data Management is the senior executive who bears responsibility on behalf of the organization to build, manage and organize Eaton's data & analytics assets. This is a large thought leadership position that will own determining data and how we maximize our capabilities in this space. This includes partnering with the larger Eaton Enterprise at all levels of the organization to expose data but also aid in the consumption and utilization of that data to drive improved business outcomes. Additionally although this role is strategic the execution ownership is also part of the expectation. Essential Functions: Leads the data management and analytics function across the company to ensure consistent and high-quality data and analytics in support of the business goals. Manage and develop a team of IT professionals Execute projects that aggregate data from one to many sources together into data hubs for use by self- service business-side analytics teams; Deploy OBIEE, QV, and PowerBI dashboards and models for enterprise applications; Continue to Deploy MDM for product, customer, and supplier, while expanding MDM to include hierarchies and additional systems; work to make the MDM system the ‘master’ Simplify our end-user tool landscape and plan for the next generation of OBIEE and QV into one toolset and rationalize our data warehouse landscape and consolidate data bases to reduce complexity. Establish data and analytics governance and specify enterprise information policy; Organize and lead a data and analytics governance council that meets at least quarterly to provide executive sponsorship for and oversight of governance policy creation and compliance. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in business administration, computer science, information science or related field strongly preferred, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 15 of experience leading cross-functional teams and enterprise wide programs, influencing across the organization and with complex contexts. Must be legally authorized to work in the US without requiring company sponsorship. Position Criteria: Detailed organizational data context, digital context, and solid demonstration of advanced analytics concepts. Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills. Able to work across business lines at a senior level to influence and effect change to achieve common goals. Demonstrated leadership; proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary talent teams in new endeavors and delivering solutions. Proven data literacy. Information strategy experience. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with business information generation and analysis methods. Very strong background in BI architecture. In depth understanding of organizational change management strategies and skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to technologists. Preferred Qualifications: Strategy and management consulting experience desirable.
