Strategic & External Relations (SER)
Strategic & External Relations is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, facilitate and lobby for implementation of HSBC’s strategic plans in China at Group, ASP and HBCN levels as well as development plans of HBCN's business.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
The role holder will work in BJO to help develop and coordinate the Bank's strategic relations with government bodies and regulators in Beijing, with the target of building favorite policy environment to support the Bank's long-term strategy and making tangible contributions to the Bank's business priorities and expansion.
The role holder will support BJO SVP primarily in below areas:

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
The role holder will work in BJO to help develop and coordinate the Bank's strategic relations with government bodies and regulators in Beijing, with the target of building favorite policy environment to support the Bank's long-term strategy and making tangible contributions to the Bank's business priorities and expansion.
The role holder will support BJO SVP primarily in below areas:
- Planning lobbying and relationship-enhancement activities;
- Establishing and maintaining long-term relations with governmental and regulatory departments and officials for the bank's stratgic and business interests;
- Taking the role as the project manager in managing external relations initiatives with well leveraging both external and internal resources;
- Developing full set of external relations documents as required by initiaves;
- Liaising with senior representatives from local authorities and regulators;
- Managing or supporting some key events and visits of senior executives.
Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cultivating and nurturing good relationships.
- Basic knowledge of banking industry and products.
- Excellent content development capability with solid experience in drafting a variety of external relations documents (including but not limited to project briefing books, executive speeches, presentation slides, applications to government, intelligence analysis and reports) both in English and Chinese.
- Strong project management skills in delivering favorable results pursuant to set KPIs.
- Ideally with 4-8 years' experience in the sectors relating to government relations, public affairs, corporate communications, etc.
- Self-motivated, pleasant in appearance and personality, delicate, diplomatic, mature, flexible and highly responsible.
