Our Client is a leading Third Party Logistics company offering complete end-to-end supply chain services around the globe. Currently operate more than 35 million square feet in 200+ facilities, making them the one of the largest 3PL in North America.
Vice President,IT - Asia
Reports to: CIO (dotted line report to Director of Admin & Finance Asia)
Job Description VP IT Asia is responsible for leading the infrastructure and applications IT personnel in the Asian region that are required to fulfill the company's business objectives
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent IT in customer meetings, presenting our technical solutions and costs in written and oral form.
- Liaise between operations management and IT within the international business.
- Ensure properly assigned resources for all supported systems software and hardware.
- Ensure that IT policies are in place, followed, kept current and in line with corporate IT policies.?
- Ensure that infrastructure projects and tasks follow corporate standards and that the corporate Director of Infrastructure has sanctioned all changes and additions.
- Direct development staff on management and support of existing applications.?
- Manages project plans and resources for the implementation of new applications, modifications of existing applications and all infrastructure projects.?
- Manages and maintains the master list of all IT projects in Asia.
- Manage the activities of department staff.?
- Manage vendor relationships.?
- Conduct planning activities for the successful implementation and support of all applications in the portfolio.?
- Selects, develops and evaluates personnel.?
- Performs assessments and listens to clients to understand and anticipate their needs and determine their priorities in the context of the overall enterprise.
- Proactively develops and maintains technical knowledge in specialized area(s), remaining up-to-date on current trends and best practices; leverages expertise to produce solutions that enable global consistency and standardization and facilitate exceptional performance.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree or demonstrable equivalent experience is required.?
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of management experience.?
- Must have functional familiarity with infrastructure concepts and equipment.?
- Must have 5 years of applications experience in an enterprise level environment supporting multiple, diverse sites, domestically and internationally.?
- Must have experience with virtualized environments, preferably using VMWare ESX.?
- Superior communication skills, both written and oral
- English, Mandarin fluent both written and oral
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong systems development life cycle experiences, from detailed requirements definition, analysis, design, development and validation through implementation.
Ability to communicate technical information to all levels of Information Technology staff and customers and employees outside the IT department.?
Create and maintain project schedule:
o Identify tasks, estimate effort and assign resources working with team members
o Identify risks and define mitigation plans
o Identify special needs, resources, tools, etc
o Identify constraints and readjust schedule based on dependencies and other factors
Participate in the request for proposal (risk & gap analysis) and actual proposal stage of client projects.
Team oversight ensure that day to day development tasks are being performed for a given project.? Development tools primarily being employed are Microsoft .? NET, VB, C #, MS SQL Server
Track, monitor, and communicate development progress against the project plan, budget, requirements, quality measures, standard process and milestones
Estimate time, scope and cost of technical projects
Participate in the quality assurance process for platform/?applications
Superior analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and technical skills.?
Ability to analyze and reengineer a process
Leadership skills that can energize multidiscipline work teams in various locations to respond to business needs.?
Strong project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning state through to implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors.?
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment.?
Strong negotiation and influence skills.? ?
