Vice President – Site Reliability Engineer for Software Build & Developers Tools Infrastructure

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to manage reliability of global Software Build and Citi Developers Tools infrastructure. In this role, you will be working with support specialist and product engineers to ensure the availability and performance of our platforms and services that our company runs on. The Global Function Technology Service has set an ambitious goal to reduce mean time to recover (MTTR) and mean time to failure (MTTF) of our platform and invest in latest technology that helps to achieve that. As part of the technology team, you will play a key role in achieving that goal.

The role requires a good understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concepts and best practice in that areas. A significant set of challenges revolves around the understanding of multiple technology stacks and the ability to visualize integration among various technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities/Requirements

Platform Reliability Management:

Monitor every possible metrics within our platform so that we have precise understanding of the health of our infrastructure.

• Drive automatic healing to improve infrastructure availability and reduce manual intervention.
• Ensure proper maintenance of operational RunBook that clearly defines procedure to bring back our services quickly.
• Review production incident pattern over time and implement solution to reduce MTTR & MTTF
• Oversee all changes to production environment and assess its impact on Software Build and Citi Developers Tools infrastructure.

Technology Management:

Upgrade existing product and roll out new product along with Engineering.

• Adopt new technology that gives competitive advantage to Citigroup Developers.
• Champion automation to reduce manual intervention during platform operation and troubleshooting.

• Vendor Management:

Ensure allocation of quality vendor resource to manage infrastructure availability and performance.

• Proactively manage and monitor vendor deliverables

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/ Related Field or equivalent work experience

6 + years software development experience and 6+ years of technical support experience as a team lead

Strong understanding of Application Lifecycle Management, Software Build & CI-CD concepts and at least one year of hands on experience with Enterprise Build & Jenkins. Knowledge of Artifactory (Universal Artifacts Repository) is a plus.

3+ years’ experience with Linux & Windows (shell/batch scripting & server management), Java, .Net, LDAP, Active Directory, Oracle/SQL Server database (SQL, backup & recovery)

Must be a self-starter, effective listener, problem solver and team player.

Experience using Service Management Software (Service Now). ITSM certification is a plus.
