Job Description
Siemens EDA seeks a proven and dynamic individual to lead the definition and execution of a comprehensive cloud strategy. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders across functional boundaries to identify the requirements, actions and investments necessary to create a differentiated cloud approach for Siemens EDA that will deliver a compelling value proposition for our customers. The leader will build partnerships with cloud industry players and coordinate with foundries, IP providers and other companies in the electronics ecosystem. Additionally, the individual will engage with internal product and marketing owners to formulate industry messaging that conveys the cloud story and customer value proposition. With the cloud model quickly gaining traction as a preferred computing paradigm, the VP of Cloud Solutions will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Siemens EDA. The following are key responsibilities of the VP of Cloud Solutions: ● Develop and drive a financially accretive cloud strategy for Siemens EDA that closes competitive gaps and demonstrates industry leadership Lead the definition and articulation of strategies that will profitably make Siemens EDA an important influencer in the adoption of cloud computing by customers ● Identify solutions for common cloud use cases in EDA, such as bring-your-own-license (BYOL), domain-specific SaaS, hybrid cloud tools, and multi-vendor flows while ensuring that business models address customers’ needs while balancing internal requirements for financial predictability and growth ● Drive alignment of internal stakeholders across R&D, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Services, IT and legal in defining solutions and implementing suitable business processes from quote-to-cash to fulfill and sell the offerings ● Build strong partnerships with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, …) and other cloud enablement players to accelerate and strengthen Siemens strategy and standing ● Develop cloud messaging (for industry audiences) and go-to-market plans in collaboration with sales and marketing leaders to create campaigns and programs that will support the company cloud strategy ● Engage with customers to understand cloud requirements and advocate the Siemens EDA offerings in coordination with the sales organization ● Coordinate with other cloud-focused groups across Siemens Digital Industries Software to identify synergies and strategies that bring together a broader set of company assets and technologies ● Job Requirements (must have) ● BSEE (or equivalent) 15+ years experience in the EDA industry and possessing a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, semiconductor and electronic systems ecosystems, and customer priorities ● 10+ years experience working with the cloud ecosystem and knowledge of the associated industry dynamics, technologies, services and business models ● Experience launching cloud products or technologies, preferably in the EDA space Knowledge of and experience with cloud deployment models and tradeoffs for EDA users, including BYOL, SaaS, hybrid use, full-flow use and multi-cloud environments ● Experience driving product vision, go-to-market strategy and directly supporting pre-sales activities Experience creating strategy, working cross-functionally, presenting to executive audiences and leading complex initiatives, including through influence when direct authority for resources lies elsewhere ● Job Requirements (preferred) ● MBA or other advanced technical degree Experience building and leveraging partnerships to broaden or accelerate adoption of a product/solution/service ● Established relationships with cloud companies such as AWS, Azure, and GCP ● Experience with a semiconductor or systems company for deeper understanding of the customers’ challenges, priorities and opportunities Experience in multiple functional areas such as IT, Product Management, Finance, Marketing, Sales and Support ● Experience managing or driving the creation of strategy from initial concept through offering launch, including ratification by executive decision makers Organization: Digital Industries Company: Siemens Industry Software Inc.
