Job Description
Position Overview: Eaton Corporation’s Commercial and Residential Distribution Solutions (CRDS) Division is seeking a Vice President of Operations for their Commercial Products and Assemblies (CPA) product lines. This position can be based in our facilities in Charlotte, NC, Sumter or Hodges, SC, Cleveland, TN or El Paso, TX. Reporting to the Sr VP/GM, this person will lead the Operations function for the Commercial Products Assemblies (CPA) business. Total division revenue approximately $1.3B, with over 2,600 employees and five manufacturing facilities in the US and Mexico. The VP Operations is responsible for the overall leadership of Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions, with multi-site plant facilities geographically dispersed across the region. This person will lead across functional areas such as manufacturing, quality, OpEx, supply chain, inventory and materials management and EHS. This person will work closely with other functional leaders to ensure standardization and establishment of performance metrics. This role is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to support achievement of the organization’s financial metrics/goals as defined by the profit and strategic plans. Essential Responsibilities: Establish, develop, and execute the appropriate operations strategic plan to support the organization’s business and financial goals Formulate and implement strategic changes in manufacturing and operations that guide the organization, maintaining and improving competitive position, profitability and conformance of products to established customer and company quality standards Manage policy deployment in the areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, lead-time and cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, and plant performance measures Participate with other Electrical sector leadership teams in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies and programs Lead efforts to continuously improve manufacturing/operational excellence and define related performance metrics/tools. Establish and maintain key performance metrics, taking overall responsibility of manufacturing performance Provide leadership for plant based OPEX leaders and the organization through proactive and effective communications Drive a high-performance workforce through effective talent management. Attract, coach, mentor and develop strong leaders within the organization and share ownership with the plant managers in the development of future talent pipeline Drive compliance to EHS programs and ensure adherence to local regulations, Eaton policy and good corporate citizenship Collaborate with the supply chain function to establish inventory plans and proactively manage inventory to profit plan, driving improved and sustainable processes Execute the Supply Demand Planning (SIOP) process, driving ownership and collaboration across all stakeholder groups Develop and educate employees and leadership on Eaton business tools into the organization including EBS, Six Sigma, Eaton Lean System, PROLaunch, SIOP, Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) Develop and cultivate relationships with key suppliers (internal and external) to ensure high quality relationships and products Position Criteria Consistently acts in an ethical, open, honest, trustworthy and truthful manner Demonstrated leadership effectiveness with stellar change management skills. The ability to succeed in a highly team-oriented environment Understands how to adapt communication style to fit different stakeholder groups and cultures Demonstrated strategic thinking skills, drive for results, and managerial courage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in dealing with management, employees, customers and suppliers.
